Terms of Sale

These terms apply to purchases made from Capital Reef Creations ("we," "us"), a coral retailer located at 111 N 56th St, Lincoln, Nebraska. By placing an order on this site you agree to them. Questions any time: [email protected].

1. Live animals — please read first

We sell living corals. They are hand-raised, individually photographed, and shipped with care, but they are live animals: their appearance varies with lighting, water chemistry, and stress, and their long-term health depends on the conditions in your aquarium. By ordering you confirm you have a suitable established saltwater system and accept responsibility for acclimation and ongoing care after delivery.

2. WYSIWYG — what you see is what you get

Items marked WYSIWYG are one-of-a-kind: the photo shows the exact specimen you will receive. Photos are taken under reef lighting (typically heavy blue spectrum); coloration in your tank will vary with your own lighting and as the coral settles in. Frag sizes are approximate. One-of-a-kind items are removed from the storefront the moment they're claimed — if a technical error ever allows a double-sale, the first completed order wins and the second is promptly refunded in full.

3. Orders & payment

• Card payments are processed by Stripe on Stripe's secure checkout. We never see or store your card number.
• The Reserve / ask first option places a hold rather than a charge — we confirm availability and finalize payment with you by email. No charge is made until you approve it.
• Promotional codes: one code per order, no stacking; codes may carry minimums, category limits, expiry dates, or usage caps, and may be changed or ended at any time.
• Prices are in U.S. dollars. Obvious pricing errors may be corrected and affected orders cancelled with a full refund.

4. Shipping

Corals ship overnight via UPS in insulated, heat/cold-packed boxes. Shipping is a flat $50, free on orders over $450 (current rates always shown at checkout). We ship on coordinated days to avoid weekend carrier delays, and may hold shipments during extreme weather for the animals' safety — we'll tell you when we do. A tracking link is emailed the moment your box has a label.

5. Live Arrival Guarantee (DOA policy)

• Coverage requires someone to accept the box on the first delivery attempt — live animals can't sit on a porch or at a depot.
• Claims must include photos of the coral in the unopened bag, taken within 2 hours of delivery, sent to [email protected] with your order number.
• Approved claims receive store credit or a replacement at our choice; shipping charges are not refunded. Because these are live animals, remedies after successful delivery and acclimation are not available.

6. Local pickup & visits

You're welcome to pick up orders or shop in person — see the Visit page for hours. The Live Arrival Guarantee applies to shipped orders; in-store purchases are inspected and accepted at pickup.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total liability for any order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including losses to other livestock in your aquarium.

8. General

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nebraska (venue Lancaster County). We may update these terms from time to time; the date above reflects the current version. If any part of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
